How To Apply

Applications are accepted for Fall (September) admission only.  Online applications and supporting documentation are due January 15th (the online application process opens September 1st for programs starting the following September).
 

1.  Application form (applications must be submitted online):

Click the online application form. You will be prompted to create an eID number or, if you already have one, to enter it to access the on-line application.

Below is a brief description of the application documentation required.  Applicants MUST follow the detailed instructions on the on-line application system.
 

2.  Supporting Documents:

In addition to the online application form you must submit:

  • Two official sets of transcripts (in sealed, endorsed institutional envelopes) and degree certificates (if the awarding degree(s) is not shown on the transcript(s)) from ALL post-secondary institutions attended with official translations if the transcripts are not in English. You will need to arrange to have official transcripts sent directly from your post-secondary institution to the Department of Art (see address below). Please upload copies of unofficial transcripts directly onto your on-line application.
  • Two Academic and/or professional reference letters. Once you initiate your application your referees will automatically be notified by email with instructions for submitting letters of reference directly to your online application.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable):
    An applicant whose primary language is not English may fulfill the English language proficiency requirement through one of the following tests:
    • TOEFL with a minimum score of 86 on the internet-based test or 560 on the paper-based test
    • IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5
    • MELAB with a minimum score of 80
    • PTE with a minimum score of 59
    The test must be completed within the last two years.
  • A three to five page written Statement of Intent (this is part of your online application).
  • A portfolio of 20 recent works presented in JPEG (2Mb Max per image or 500 x 700 dpa per image) on a USB flash drive. 
    Note: works in Powerpoint will NOT be accepted.
  • A $125 application fee - the application fee is paid via credit card with the online application form (the application fee for international applicants, including the United States, is $145). 
    Please note: applications will NOT be processed if the application fee is not paid.  This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Please put ALL of the above-noted documents/information into one package and submit it to:

Materials sent separately or sent to an office other than the Department of Art may be lost or miss the deadline.
